Zoo Chimp stashes stones with intent to throw @ onlookers

....seems like we're finally awake enough to understand that many animals may actually 'think ahead.' Perhaps, they also have an emotional life, feel pain, remorse and joy.....so, how can we treat them the way we do? Where is the line?

"Keepers at Furuvik Zoo found that the chimp collected and stored stones that he would later use as missiles.

Further, the chimp learned to recognise how and when parts of his concrete enclosure could be pulled apart to fashion further projectiles.

The findings are reported in the journal Current Biology."

Obama Suspends Bush Rule On Endangered Species

"President Obama today asked federal agencies to consult with wildlife biologists over decisions that may affect threatened or endangered species. The memorandum effectively suspends a December 2008 rule issued by the Bush administration, which waived requirements that agencies like the Army Corps of Engineers consult with experts at the Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Marine Fisheries Service when undertaking projects like building dams."
