Another One Bites the Dust: Randy Cunningham Resigns and Admits Taking Bribes

Here is his apology for being a crook and getting caught(pdf file). He suggests that religion will become a bigger part of his life and help him find a place in heaven despite his crooked ways.

Democrat or Republican, corruption at such high levels baffle me.

I understand why a poor man might resort to crime to support his family, but to see a wealthy man who has acheived so much resort to such underhanded tactics is pathetic.

What really concerns me is that perhaps an individual like Cunningham may have been corrupt all along. A friend, who is a really brilliant lawyer, once told me "Only the stupid criminals get caught."
