Why Chalabi?

It has been frustrating to see Ahmed Chalbi welcomed in Washington DC with such royal fanfare. He has been installed as head of the Iraq Energy Council despite being under investigation for espionage (sharing classified information with Iran). He has also been convicted of embezzlement by Jordon and......he is one of the chief sources of phoney information about Iraq's WMD threat.
